Well.

Okay, so I'm sleep deprived; I could not sleep and ended up being antsy and tired, and washing the cars in the early dawn light as a man with a dog walked past. Email from eBay buyer nuisance at 7am didn't help (wondering why I hadn't replied to her email of LAST NIGHT). Grrr.

Took her parcel to the post. Morning air++

Bumped into Kirk. He and his business partner are looking for properties for B&Bs. Don't hold out much hope but I'm emailing him the particulars I've been writing.

I also, for some reason, grabbed the annoying bit of folded metal I'd found in the yard that had "Celtic Football Club 1888" and a four-leaf clover stamped on it. It appeared to be a cheap and nasty gewgaw, some sort of chav ring of low quality. I folded the squashed metal out, and saw some markings.

So I checked.

Scroll down to the ring.

Now, how bloody stupid are football fans? Well, I got £6 in scrap for it; I'd taken it in just for a laugh and he recognised the type of ring, and I said he could have it. He gave me the scrap value anyway, so I got free lunch (and postage on eBay item).

£6 scrap value.

Look at the price on the site.

I don't disagree with the scrap value one bit ;)

Cleaned front windows a bit. Really need to stay up, then sleep at a normal time - I think that having a long bath and finally removing the dead rat, three twigs, a robin and a squirrel from my hair helped me feel a lot better.

The Toyota dealer ordered me £10+/worth of wrong, duplicate parts. It's been ages since I ordered them, I shall have to store them for future use or something. No bolts, and duplicate collars for fitting the front deflectors.

Gave up on that Technics, having listed it as a three day, collect only, starts at £1 auction and had no bids with it due to end today - cancelled it, and took it to the secondhand shop. Where I got £75 for it, or 3x my original BIN price. Bloody hell. I'm pleased.

I'm also pleased that I drove back from the garage with the roof off the MR2 down through the backroads, dappled light and twisty bends and quick reactions. All fun and good, and all reminding me why when I was a student with less pressure, I loved to drive, and it took me a long time to start getting quite so angry with it all. No pressure=I can still drive fast, but I don't need to. The MR2 handles so well, too. No-one seems very interested it in on the MR2 club and I'm loathe to try eBay and hand 10% of the selling price over to them (unless cars are different!). If only I had time to properly strip the interior and fit the rest of the sound system.

Tomorrow, I Birmingham. Wednesday, Hertfordshire. Thursday, back to Hawick. I am going to be utterly trashed by the time this house actually sells :(
