Nominations
Oct. 23rd, 2008 11:22 amSold stuff on eBay. Astonishingly quickly. Hopefully I will be paid for the items, but nevertheless, OMG my stuff I didn't want is paying for my CBT and a bit of my DAS! And a wireless remote for my Nikon, after seeing one of these China specials in use by an MPA member.
Anyway, my idea for the day inspired by forums.
I might set up a filter for this; certainly I'll use cuts.
Assuming you have an interest in cars and the like - nominate your favourite car from a particular decade (you can nominate as many or as few as you wish) and an overall favourite car. Explain why, attach a picture of one, and then I'll make a voting thingy so a favourite from each decade can be chosen. I'm expecting 60s-90s to have lots of interest and pre-war to be a bit bereft, so it might not be a huge vote.
No parameters beyond this; you can pick anything from a Peel to a Bugatti, as long as you can say why you liked it and what made it good in context. If your interest in cars extends to little more than "it looks nice", that's fine, but I might add some technical info when I make the poll for "favourite for each decade" and "favourite overall".
ETA: Oh, I did have a thought - also stick a song on that goes with the car. Doesn't have to be logical; I always associate "Been Caught Stealing" with my old X1/9, for example.

50s - Mercedes 300SL Gullwing
60s - Renault Alpine
70s - VW Golf
80s - Toyota Supra 2.8i
90s - BMW 325i Cabriolet
00s - Mazda RX8 (choice of red or blue)
