Roofer has been and repaired the roof, Siani's dad is off out on my bike for a bike ride around the hills (he's looking at fording - wish I'd got the mudguards fitted now, instead of waiting for black ones!), might have roofer's Scimitar GTE to tidy up for him (Siani's carb expertise primarily, but unless the rules changed I am baffled as to how a 1978 car failed the MOT on emissions).

Three of the chimneys lack caps; three vented caps will be fitted to them, they might not be our chimneys but I reckon it's worth it just to be sure. Drain vent will be getting a mushroom cap during the week sometime.

Anyone in Nashville? I can get a whole cloth RX8 interior for $200, but all I need is the driver's seat. Shipping it is the worry there, as all I really need is the base part.
Oh, this is a good month for pointless exaltation.

First Charles Clarke and Prescott are dragged out of the mud for a good bitchslapping.

And now, Apple Inc. beat Apple Corps.

And, in a kickass moment of "w00t" - I was searching eBay for Drum Machines (keeping an eye half-out for a cheap Yamaha RX-11 to complete the TX816/QX-1 setup) and found the Seiko Frequency watch - a watch with a drum machine and bpm counter/metronome in it. It looks uber-retro and 80s, but is in fact from 1999, and very collectible.

The one on eBay was red, and £99 - cheaper than Siani reckons to have seen them for around Christmas, but certainly more than "oooh, shiny" money. Still, I was dithering and decided to Google for samples, see what it might sound like. I found an entry on the Hard To Find Records webstore for a "Stanton DJ Watch" - a Stanton-branded, black version of the Seiko Frequency (the picture shows an identical but black watch) - for £49. I clicked buy. It worked. I have a shipped confirmation email.

I called them, and asked if they had more. I got the last one!

I guess I will have it tomorrow or Wednesday, upon which a review will follow :D

Even better, Otterbox sent me new toys - iPod case (very, very neat indeed, with a jackplug that fits the iPod and then an external headphone socket) and mounts for my iPaq onto the bike handlebars - the latter being from RAM Mounts and very impressive looking.
Yeay for common sense.

Mazda interior bloke, when presented with "$200 for the whole interior? I'll give you that for the driver's seat. Hell, I'll give you that for the seat base" instead of being silly (like the italians, who wanted 1,500 euro for the seats and wouldn't split) said "Sure!". So he's going to check some shipping rates, and I'll decide if I want the whole seat (no risk of things not working as planned) or just the base (much lighter, no airbags).

I WILL have both seats height adjustable in my RX8, dammit! And the dealer will be surprised. But I won't tell them I did it, oh no. Don't want to invalidate my warranty in case fitting a height adjustable seat makes my engine misbehave.
