Scorpio MOTd

Have made more use of the bike; yesterday whilst getting tyres I got a slinkier lock chain, kickstand (it's different to the ones I used before, and sticks out behind the frame. Neat) and a set of pannier bags which are very, very useful indeed. Can load that bike up, yet they're nice and compact when empty. The final addon (at least unless I get really mad with cycling and add more panniers!) will be a set of mudguards in black, chosen to match the 700c wheels.

Am enjoying the bike; have done only 18 miles on it, but it's MUCH quicker around town than a car and the only killer is the hill we live on, which I find difficult - most of the hills around here don't bother me. I can definitely feel an improvement in my legs, and the bike is geared for about 24mph on the flat at a comfortable cadence (the cadence sensor is playing up, but when I got it to behave it seems to suggest I'm maintaining about 74). To nip to the garage, I decided to go for the one 1.5 miles away, which is about the most awkward road traffic wise so was worthwhile. I'm not especially worried about most cars, but there was a shitter of a van that made me nervous just from the racket from the blown exhaust.

House impossibly tidy for a change.

Tired, but not sleepy.

Didn't win the lottery. Bah.

Apparently the iBook replacements (MacBooks) will be launched Tuesday and come in black and white.

Rediscovered Simoniz car wax (the proper wax in a yellow tin) - the Sera has a proper gleam to the otherwise shabby paint. Wooo :D
