My head goes all swirly, as I try to follow 3 different parts in a song.
Today, I have been playing with guitar tab, trying to work out violin parts to Smashing Pumpkins' "Disarm", finding no sodding score, but a guitar tab, getting faster at reading that.
I once, when trying by ear, managed the deeper section perfectly, but now I'm thinking about it, I can't do it again. Too many notes at once.
I can play this bloody thing. I just don't know what I want to play, or how to make it fit into any other ideas I have. I hooked up to the lab meter on the Mac and watched what I was playing, and I'm actually getting the right notes, my ears are not lying (I went from tab, played the tab on the keyboard, then played on violin. I do know which notes they are, but I still have to remember where to find them fastest on the violin).
I think I'll bring the Kramer and a small amp and effects unit to Whitby, just to play with.
