Turnkey - new site
Jan. 4th, 2009 01:52 pmPeople might remember Turnkey folded earlier this year - it's how I was able to afford to rebuild the studio with new kit - and I see their site has resurfaced.
They're listing Moog things. And they're cheaper than anywhere else I've seen - the CP-251 I need to complete the basic "modular" setup is only £189, compared to £299 elsewhere and £150 I'm offering for a used one.
Has anyone bought from them? There are London and Manchester numbers given but a lot of the site has the stamp of "coming soon" (or "not really working anymore") - particularly the About Us and Contact Us pages. I am suspicious, naturally, but at that price... it could be that someone bought Turnkey's assets and is selling off the stock and £189 (reduced from £220 according to their page) would get me a new old-stock CP-251, possibly the early model with 0-10 instead of -5 +5 attenuators and red jacks for powered inputs - but that's all I'd be likely to get if I bought used too.
The blurb at the bottom implies Soho Soundhouse and S & T Audio Technology, both existing firms with a few outlets (Professional Music Technology in Southend).
They have the MF pedals listed at considerably lower prices, too - MF-104Z analogue delay @ £329 instead of £450-530. Those are for "over the next year" though; I just want the CP for now.
Yesterday saw a far too brief visit to
shevek to drop off the Supernova and some other bits, and then a still-too-short-but-longer visit to
samoth; unfortunately driving to Bath after being once again unable to wash my car, with the setting sun basically attempting to bore a hole into my eyes, had an erosive effect on my otherwise good mood.
I will, at some point, remember to put my sunglasses BACK in the car.
