Yeay summer-ish weather. Not only did I spend most of the afternoon driving about with the top down in a careworn red sportscar (with no tunes. Speakers are shagged, new Alpines = £19 seemingly), but I also just washed said sportscar because it's NOT COLD.
The MX5 hasn't been properly washed since July 2007. I have to say, Birmingham is WAY kinder to car cosmetic condition than the Borders.
Anyway, my dilemma. It's a good one to have, like most dilemmas I have lately, but it's a tough choice.
The D3 is a given and I've asked for the grid focusing screen also, for architecture/portraiture. My interest ultimately is to master the PC-E perspective control lens and work with commercial subjects, however the 14-24mm f2.8 is a lovely lens and very versatile. Assume anything longer is going to be from Sigma, such as 24-70; Sigma's 12-24mm is also a very good lens which is crossing my mind whilst I try to find out how it performs on the FX sensor.
I'm getting a good deal on the camera, so one lens can come with it. They're both roughly the same price - a couple of quid between them. I'll possibly work with one until the house sells and then buy the other.
Which one should I choose? The wide, fast 14-24mm Nikkor, or the perspective control f3.5 24mm? Or, do you think there is a better lens I should get (bearing in mind I have 24-70mm and 100-300mm Sigma lenses for the time being). DX lenses aren't really an option - if I want a 5Mp file I'll use my SD14.
