Gosh, I've been pretty quiet for a week, haven't I!
So - recovered from the move and driving. My rental truck this time was a 115PS, LWB, High-Top Transit from 2005. Low mileage and nice and clean. Did I mention I think Transits are possibly THE best vehicles in the entire world, ever? There is now a plan afoot using Transits to possibly further my aims as a slimey advertising salesperson, but I suspect I am going to run out of mental energy to actually pull it together. There is, after all, a Lot On at the moment.
Last week was really good, in a knackering way, and setting up
jenova_red's new place was refreshingly simple thanks to it all being in good order to start with. We've found a new niggles like a missed cracked baninster, and chipped skirting board, but really, the whole place was a pleasant experience. Hopefully today Jen will get a washing machine, making the appliance-tastic stage of "new house" complete. Most amusing is the bedroom, which slopes drastically. VERY drastically.
It'll be really nice when we can have people to visit. YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE. The living room is absolutely PERFECT for visitors to come and be sociable in. Also, the kitchen is ideal for being found in at parties, though I don't think there will be many parties.
I went back, perhaps ill-advisedly, on Tuesday at 11pm - meaning I made it back to Hawick around 3ish, couldn't sleep, then did another IKEA run (for my dad, this time) before taking the van back to St. Boswells and getting a lift from
siani_hedghehog as she left work. This aided my logistics considerably. Thursday was sleepy/tired attempts at work, and then heading up to the 'note with
jezebel_z in tow due to her and Siani's festivally antics, a nice evening where I didn't lose my temper with anyone and drew cars for a lot of the evening with Drew's pens (there was an attempt to see how many wheels could fit on a car after the many benefits of six-wheeled designs were discussed).
Friday was mostly made of IRC and "blah", and now today I'm a little perkier. I should probably wash the chickens and feed the cars, or something.
Why is Outlook 2007 so slow/liable to hang, btw? Does anyone else use it and is it possibly the reason my Dell won't wake from sleep properly (it won't repair the keyboard, so I can't enter a password when it comes up). Helpful answers like "use Mozilla" will be ignored, as I do use Mozilla - I'm testing Outlook and the Business Contact Manager functions for an article, and some of it (aside from the increasingly infuriating broken quoting, FFS!) is quite handy.
