Nice tools for Windows
Jul. 6th, 2007 11:31 pmOf course, I may dislike Windows, and I definitely think that the image of Windows having thousands more GOOD apps than OS X is somewhat misleading... but some of the apps available are nicer.
Often, these little apps are just filling holes - I just had to look for tools to mount a disk image, something OS X just does by default - comedically, the image was a trial download from Microsoft themselves and their own tool for mounting images only works under XP, not Vista...
But whilst grabbing stuff, I downloaded Semagic and of course, there's nothing quite as good/supported on OS X - iJournal hasn't been updated for years.
I suppose some time tomorrow I'll have Visual Studio Pro installed, but I have to wait for copying music to finish before I can reboot to finish installing Alcohol 120% to mount the image.
EDIT: Whaddaya know. iJournal has been updated since 1.57 - despite my asking it to check for updates, it missed the >1 year old update to 1.77, yet now it tells me about it. Still a very old app in some terms, but at least it is now Universal.
