Kelso again today. I don't have too much to do there, just moving stuff - could really do with renting a truck (or hell, just taking the seats out of the A-class) and taking a lot of stuff to the tip.

I really do need to make plans to see people, but budgeting the fuel costs just before Christmas is not going to be fun. Both of the cars need "work", Enola is straightforward, Sera is overdue. Options i have been presented with (aside from helping London people move) are: Judder, a DeathBoy/Xykogen/XPQ? gig... and... I think that's it. All of which are down South. There's Glasgow, of course. Think is, I'm looking at my usual activity around this time of year and it never seems particularly sociable; last year MsMortis was here and I was pretty occupied with that stuff and the last Nightmare 'afore Xmas (which was, aside from the poor attendance, pretty good).

Is there anything happening elsewhere? Leeds? I really fancy finding a good goth-laden 80s night for example; what was that B Movie thing people used to talk about?

Mood seems darker now
Closing in like shorter days
Like moth, must find light
Why is it that I can spend an entire day thinking of a concept for a song; coming up with parts, working on a vocal technique I like...

And then when I sit down in the evening, I forget the bulk of what I was working on?

The concept is still there; but the actual material just escaped out of my head like so many moths.

A plan is forming for visiting people, getting the hell out of the house, and maintaining the Whitby buzz to a degree. This may be a long term intention, though it requires moderation for costs and mileage on my car.

My Granny is in Oxford. She's 94 and in a home. (Recently I sent her a Bush radio, one of those inexpensive replicas of the TR82 - since she had been given modern ones which resulted in me being told "She doesn't want one, she can't work it, she's too far gone" - needless to say giving her the radio she had 30 years+ ago has resulted in her enjoying Radio 4 again. YEAY!). So visiting my Granny is a Good Idea, even though it does depress me somewhat.

Oxford is at the other end of the M6 pretty much, and is also near 'nam.

It's also closeish - relatively - to London.

It does mean a LOT of driving, of course, but a good route around the UK will let me catch up with people easily I think. If it's a weekday thing, I might even incorporate some work and visit some advertisers.
