Well, that was a good weekend, I think. Not TOO much food (ErithwithdeletedLJ cooked sausages and rather nice mashed potato, and brought burrito). I fixed things, but then found my grey Spectrum +2 is dead. It's got one insanely hot capacitor and stinks of burning; maybe replacing that component will fix it, or maybe it's burning because something else has gone.

Looking at potential earnings vs. bills before Whitby is pretty damn depressing, really. I'm considering what I can make vs. how much the phone/electricity etc is going to cost, and it's not looking good; I've now got somewhere I can get a suit from (need to get professional measurements ideally), and it's cheap, but blah. Too much to deal with; stuff needs organising for the house, I need to work out a way of earning more money without actually killing anyone with frustration.

Sera is depressing me, too. I wanted to use it for Whitby, but the suspension STILL needs to be done, as do the brakes; I've been so busy and distracted, I've just given up on trying to pin down why the passenger door wasn't working the same as the driver's door.

Next year, I am SO saving money in May/June before everyone has things to do in summer. I don't think about it that much, but it's so insanely expensive getting around this stupid little island. Train, car, whatever, about the only way to get anywhere cheaply is maybe to get a motorbike, which simply isn't practical. I may be hardcore as drivers go, but there's no way I'm riding an economical motorbike 400 miles in 7 hours or so.

Today: Selling advertising and writing more of my SOS-bound article on the AlphaSyntauri system.
Well, no response from the CX5M guy. You'd think that if he had really sent the item, had it returned, sent it again and lost it, he would have sent me the postage receipt, or responded to emails. I really, really think he's just refusing to send it because it sold for £6.50.

So, PayPal and eBay disputes opened. If I don't get a response, negative feedback. And I WILL be watching his selling activity, and if the CX5M comes up again, I will bid on it again, and demand that it is sold to me for the amount I won it for in the first place ;) Trying to work out how to make it clear in 80 characters that the negative is for a CX5M that was claimed to be lost and sold for £6.50, so even if the item has gone from the database, the negative is clearly for a specific item.
Functional status: 85%

Gym accomplished. Not dizzy, increased loading on Rotax didn't kill me, found comfortable running speed (but, at the moment can't do more than 3 minutes) of 12km/h, 1500m on rowing machine no problem at all, weights marred by very broken shoulders. Need to do more stomach-muscle exercises.

Turns out local tailor can measure me fully for suit. Probably won't charge, though will sell me an expensive white shirt and suitable tie if he gets it all right for me :) Also has fantastic 80s-esque cut pinstripe suit, new, £130 or £150. Owww... that's not that bad. Don't have the money for pinstripes, especially if the suits come cut correctly as I will want more of the punchy colours.

Have sandwich and orange juice, and a lot of work to do.
Arsebiscuits.

The Sera has acquired a new noise.

When run, I think just with the A/C on (I need to test it more), it's making this 'banging' noise from the area around the A/C compressor when switched off. I think it's low on A/C fluid; that possibly means it's leaking. I'll probably need to replace the drier; it's due after around a decade usually. I was going to give the poor thing a wash (it's covered in Spiderwebs), but it's annoyed me now.
HAH! In your face, BT.

They screwed up my billing for the Broadband, trying to take direct debit amounts for the bill I had just paid; so back to normal billing. I'll maybe set up direct debits later.

And... no more ISDN! My phone bill is going to drop from £175/quarter to £60/quarter :D

Also, the bank people said "Cheque issuing form has been done". So I should have that cheque soon. Okay, I have taken it into account so it's not Whooohooo! but at least I am definitely getting it.
