Jul. 31st, 2006 10:21 amIn your face, Bank of Scotland! *dance*
So, they pulled a stunt on me which I pre-empted. My old overdraft account was being paid off, and was > the amount due to be refunded. I set up, pre-empting them trying to do this, an early settlement figure, which was < amount to be refunded.
Except, they refunded in two lots, breaking the early settlement agreement.
Fortunately the firm handling the overdraft account understood what had happened, sorted out the settlement, and are refunding me the excess even though it's technically theirs in terms of overall debt, because the payments were out of my control.
I WIN :D
Dammit!
So; charges refunded, out of /debt/ - credit card obviously still outstanding, but nothing that should flag up my credit file once it's updated next, and I get a few hundred back myself as expected. I was mostly pissed about the court fees going into that account.
I'm serious. Anyone who has had these bank charges, get the bloody things back. It's not hard - if I can do it anyone can.
