Jun. 11th, 2006 12:23 amClover walked herself to her house this evening. She's still not right, but this was a surprising bit of activity for her. She also perked up and pecked about at stuff when she got to her old 'run' area, the flat grass where they used to be mostly confined. Once there, she needed some overgrown mint to be pushed out of the way, but went into the enclosure, and up into her house.
She's had medicine and mealworms today, but didn't seem to want peas.
We also managed to go to Edinburgh and do stuff quickly and efficiently, the Crapi is gone, and we got to see Doctor Who. Which wasn't bad apart from the interminable 'humans are so fucking brilliant' speech. I win for bitching last week about the lack of a hammer-blow subtle Torchwood reference and wondering what had gone wrong. My Piano Collection card arrived from Germany (the one with the bank transfer) and was what I'd hoped for - mint and complete - so I am now only two cards (and a set of inserts) away from having that rare studio tool - a JD800 with a full complement of sound cards. The Piano card has some lovely patches on it, with for the era, good samples, especially a 1980s stacked piano patch. Yes, it's redundant in a modern world, but I've been considering going back to pure synths again and selling the TD3K, Kramer, MIDI bass (I never use the MIDI bit) and even, possibly, my electric violin. Maybe. OTOH, I might get the much wanted break and have time to play again.
(Siani's post is much how I've been feeling about time; this past month has really, really sucked so hard that I was exceptionally depressed).
I am very, very pleased with contact lenses. I can see a LOT more stuff, and it seems my eyes realign a touch. Okay, I still look like I'm about to kill people apparently, but I can drive without scowling/squinting to cut out glare.
More contacts will be acquired. I'm still looking forward to new glasses next week though.
Sigma 17-70mm (nice lens, excellent macro, soft fully open though) review done; for once it was a 'review' rather than a dissertation and fit the 3 columns available perfectly. I'm also pleased with the pictures I took for it. In fact, the people starring in the magazine will get to see it, as I am going to ask for addresses for everyone I haven't got, and send out batches of magazines (we don't print many, but I'm sure I can get enough for you to show people you know if you want).
I really want the 50-500mm. But, have to be kept away from the Sigma lens catalogue, as I just want ALL the lenses, dammit.
