Tony Bush, President of the United States of England, today announced "Consent tax".

"It's really very simple" he wittered mindlessly. "First of all, we will introduce a consent licence. This will need to be renewed every year; we're currently looking into a variable licensing scheme whereby the spermcount of the male will be taken into account, with greater emissions resulting in a higher tax".

He continued to ooze: "Should you not wish to consent to sex, you will need to fill out a "Statutory Off-Limits Notification" - failure to renew your consent license will result in a fine if you don't declare this, since obviously (Here, he chuckled in that revolting, offhand way) we don't know what you're up to!".

"Penalties will be severe; anyone found having sex without a valid consent licence will be fined £1000 and may have their genitalia removed. Please note that the other party, if they have a valid consent license, will NOT be liable for this fine, even if you do not have consent in force right now".

By way of an explanation for this utterly inexplicable legislation, he said "Well, we have managed to increase the number of uninsured, untraceable drivers on the road whilst successfully punishing those hateful middle-classes for daring to fill out forms and own property - we're hoping to have a similar effect on the state of sex, limiting the rate that the middle classes breed whilst ensuring the CSA can be let off the hook a little bit by encouraging rape and therefore a valid reason to no-longer pursue absent fathers, whilst also putting the fines back into the system - making sexual consent a matter for the state, not the individual".

When we contacted him for further comment, he merely said "mmmmmmm" and continued to shaft the British Public sans lube.
What an outstandingly lazy day. It snowed, I did nothing but sit around watching Black Books and Anime. My torrent of Kiki's Delivery Service won't play on the Xbox, though - VBR or xvid coding issue I've never seen in XBMC before, VLC handles the file fine. Might try copying the file in case it is a streaming/network issue.

Currently I am dying of cute overload having discovered "Mei to Konekobasu"...

Mei... and... the... KITTENBUS!!
Bah.

Let's say you have MAMEoX for the Xbox.
Let's say you have copied the files like a good little bunny, and it appears to be working.
Let's say you put the ROMs in the directory marked "ROMs".

Now. Would that work, in a common-sense environment?

Well, it doesn't. So, check the config, and the paths are all set to drive D:. Easily fixed.

Nope.

Never try setting up cackhanded ports when tired ;)

Want to update XBMC, but need to install an FTP client other than Filezilla, I think. Overwriting files in use doesn't strike me as a smart move. There's a new point release of XBMC coming, but I have the March 6th build I want to drop on. Maybe I'll dump a huge HD in the Xbox and update XBMC then.

Wonder if they have fixed the problem with Xvid MPEG4 files. I tried an export of Kiki, but it had choppy sound too (unimpressed). VLC spat it out as a transcode, but plays it as does Quicktime. *shrugs*. The DVD is 4.3Gb but amazingly, the Xbox seems able to stream a DVD over the wireless network. I can't believe a flaky WiFi network on a slow machine like the Xbox is capable of handling that amount of data, but the BBC Chronicles of Narnia are proving me wrong! (Worst.Aslan.EVAH).

Grr.

At least the Apple II Emulator is working.
