Happy Birthday, [livejournal.com profile] marymortis.

Happy Birthday Image! )
Sera light removed without a hitch, but with the aid of some vice-grips to hold the no-longer captive captive nuts.

I don't get why it failed. The thread is the same; the nuts fit the old light just fine still, there's no crossthreading that I can see. Just a load of gunk stuck in the threads provided enough resistance that the captive nuts gave way before the gunk did I guess.

*sulk*

Oh well. I'll have to pop them over to St. Boswells at some point when I've got the last bits of magazine copy chased and get paid. In the Beetle, seeing as how the Sera has no tail-lights now (I broke the old one in order to find out how to safely remove the new one) - and no Sera for a few days, too, I expect. Shame I haven't sussed out my Sera Logo Illumination yet, I could have taken advantage to fit it!

Now: Cup of tea, and a banana, I think.

Oh, is post from America being unusually delayed by anti-terroristz0r measures or something? My TX416 hasn't shown (but I suspect it of travelling by surface post), and also a keyring I bought hasn't appeared. Being airmail and tiny, I'd expect that to be quite quick usually...
It's sunny.
It's quite warm.
I have failed to fix the Sky thingy with percussive and polish-related maintenance, so whatever transponder carries 555 and stuff is still broken.
But - I have a tail-light to return to the garage, so I am going to get the iPod, put the roof down on the Beetle, and return said light.

And then I'm going to phone and insure the new car, I think.

I should polish the Beetle before getting it dirty, but I won't, as no-one will notice.
