Car Trouble
Nov. 6th, 2005 06:19 pmA quick update on car trouble:
One, I forgot
marymortis' flyers. I don't feel utterly bad about this, because she forgot them yesterday, but I'm still annoyed. Anyway, off to Edinburger and back to the abandoned car. Sadly, it was completely intact, so I poured water in...
Which promptly came out of the previously unseen heater matrix hose, a 2" split.
WOOOOOOO!
Filled it as much as possible and Siani drove it to a more sensible, less motorway like parking space. Tried Halfrauds and stuff, but no luck for a heater hose - will get one tomorrow. Fortunately this means the car is not trashed, but merely caused a lot of hassle. Phew.
Gave the Subaru a new headlight.
Middle-Class Church (thanks,
aidan_skinner, for that definition) was hell. Everyone was in pushy/stupid mode and I had to get quite obstinate with the traffic, forcing a load of people to just WAIT to let some poor bloke out, having managed to fire into one of the spaces NOT right next to the door (lazy bastards), park straight, load the car and leave in the time it took most of the idiots (even the ones in tiny cars) just to pull into a space. Apparently the previous occupant of the spaces had been a purple Saab Cabriolet with a woman who only had two carrier bags (for two people) - hardly justification for driving from one end of the car park to the packed loading bay.
Did I say spaces? Well, she was allegedly taking three, having driven across, instead of into, them.
The girls near Siani were, I think, suitably amused by my comment when told what she had to carry. "Well, what else can you get into a Saab cabrio, apart from Southern Wankers".
Heh. If they did laugh, I wonder if they noticed my accent :P
(I was amused partly because I had admired said Saab as it drove past, the striking purple paint looking very dramatic under the IKEA floodlights).
I have some Christmas decoration EL-wire to play with, 12v stuff, less than 1/2 the price of the Halfords 'car' stuff and with a 12V PSU includes. I shall try some in the Sera and experiment with different layouts, I am thinking of the door glass perhaps.
Still.
Scorpio. Not dead. So Siani can fix it not too expensively, sell it on eBay, and get herself a Sera.
