Jeg skal sove og kanksje drømme
Nov. 4th, 2005 01:44 amMy little Kramer is all set up nicely. I'm enjoying the metal sounds it makes, and I am getting quite a fondness for these oddball axes. I missed (by lack of funds; I drank 'em!) a rare-ish Floyd Rose Limited Edition, American Series, I posted earlier on LJ. I could have it for £270, but... I don't have £270, and if I did, it's not for a guitar.
I have been enjoying getting into music again, the new studio is conducive to really playing with the kit. Having managed to setup, tune and intonate a complex beast like a Floyd Rose guitar, I'm feeling very confident.
Really trying to decide if I want to go to Gotham Nights. There are two sides to the original planned trip to Norway; seeing
lunacia, whom I miss, and getting to socialise a bit at another gothy event. So, that's now two trips. It's more a case of... eeeh. I don't know. Outright I want to go to both, my friends are there, I have never really indulged myself with travelling/socialising before, and it's so bloody cheap - if the airport were closer I could fly to Norway for a laugh instead of, say, driving to Glasgow in a reasonably uneconomical car (the Sera is spoiling me for economy).
But... two trips to a foreign land in a month? That's almost decadent. And I really don't like air travel being so cheap relative to other travel (not that I'm going to offer to pay more!). Take advantage whilst it lasts, I guess, but watch out for the hole in the ozone layer as I pass - and hey, the planes are flying whether I'm on 'em or not.
Either way, once I recovered from the drive I was in a brilliant mood at Whitby. Which really isn't the case a lot of the time. I had fantastic company, and didn't want it to end as I had so much to do, so many people to hang out with I just hadn't managed to catch up with. I usually enjoy Whitby, but I don't feel quite so euphoric over it, and I am sure it isn't the Whisky or that one sip from one of Giolla's magic bottles as I felt that way before then. I'm wondering if I will have as much fun at something like Gotham Nights, where I know at least some of the people (I don't think Dag will be there, but Kara will be).
So, a tough choice. Changing the flight costs me £20 and means they aren't wasted, but it does mean I might still miss Poggsfest too; and I will be epically tired after going to Cambridge, driving up etc.
Do I deserve TWO trips to the (mostly) Lion-less land of Norway? Or should I in fact, go to Kenya?
