Various Meats

Today I:

Cleaned the Sera's carpets, thoroughly.
Fed Chickens.
Drove around Edinburgh with the Beetle's roof down listening to Pansy Division whilst wearing a pink Hypercolor T-shirt. I am so confident in my masculinity that I can do this :D
Ate Wild Boar, a bit of Yak, some Kangaroo, some Zebra, and Springbok.

Now, I am full and must sleep.

How to disassemble an atomic... car? (Nagasakiken).

My Sera, which is still un-named, is from Nagasaki. It was also deregistered on the day after the anniversary of the atomic bomb being dropped there in 1945.

Now, I know this because whilst rewiring it, I decided to look at the documents and found said paperwork. It also tells me what plates I should have for show use, for authenticity. The car used to be registered Nagasaki (5 - private car) 8 (don't know), MU 37-33.

I also have the address of the owner. Wonder if they would have the plates, or indeed, be interested to know what their car is up to now! I doubt it.

The door speaker had failed because the door wiring is shot - it's been repaired once already. I can repair more thoroughly with a LOT of work, or I can order a new loom; a decision will be made based upon the price of the new door loom. The more I look at the mess, the more the new loom can cost before I decide to DIY it. I remember when the number of wires going into this car's door would be enough to deal with the electrics on a whole damn car!

Of course, this gets me no nearer to a name for the black one, though Oppenheimer is on the cards I'd prefer to be more obscure, if not original.

Genuine Toyota 15" alloys. Really quite nice looking, brand new (obviously you need tyres), £135 a set. Guy apparently has a decent supply as the cartons were water damaged, but the wheels are perfect. One of the Sera people got some and reckon they're exactly right for the car.
