Finally, something simple and nice
Aug. 5th, 2005 11:34 amFor some reason, I can't install Mac OS from the iMac restore disks since installing the 80Gb drive. I don't care that much but I had hoped to be able to keep the Classic environment. Hopefully I can find some games which work under Panther on a G3/400 iMac DV
Transwarp GS replacement cable arrived from the US. For the first time in ages, my IIgs booted first time, from cold. Not a hitch. Usually it would need cycled twice before it would even think about it, and moving the cards would result in hours of frustration. This time, remove the card, replace cable with new super-flexy (and proper rainbow coloured) ribbon with gold-plated contacts for the CPU socket, replace card in a different slot (normally this would result in a dead IIgs for at least an afternoon) and it just worked right away.
Incredible.
iMac is now downloading an insane number of software updates...
