Passed!

Only passed, though, I got a few wrong. I am guessing "not knowing the maximum width of a motorbike trailer", switching off the fuel tap to prevent a fire instead of hitting the kill switch (TBH, I'd do both, but to me the fuel tap is the greater risk), and a couple of other bike-specific things that I hadn't read up on. Hazard perception wasn't too bad at all, though I do think I clicked for too many things - like "well, I can't see that junction fully".

However.

I have the Theory test part done. Now I need to do the rest of the DAS and a practical.
Bit pricey, innit. Few hundred quid, typically. Bit weak, too, these days.

Picked up a boxed, complete, in excellent shape Sunpak GX8R for £20 on eBay. TBH, I didn't expect to get it, and I didn't expect much from it.

Well, it's GN26, is controllable for full, half, quarter power with intermediate (analogue) stages, and has a 160V trigger voltage so is safe for most PC sockets. Only drawback is the 52mm thread, though it comes with adaptor rings too. For APS-C sensor DSLRs, that's not going to be an issue on a full-frame lens anyway.

One of those half-arsed bids that actually proved worthwhile, I think. Since the Hasselblad one is "OHJESUSMYEYES" powerful, this might actually be quite nice as a lighter supplementary flash.

Again

But I did some mangling in Photoshop to enhance the contrast and create a monochrome image.

A quick look online suggests that this isn't too bad a shot for a "plonk camera down, aim at moon, press remote trigger" thing.
