The new IKEA chair Jen bought me ages ago, then I elected to leave here... OMG. With my proper desk, it is awesome. However, IKEA's changing of products is not. The desk system I have definitely had a current "equivalent" last time I was in the store, but buggered if I can find it now. Which is a shame because I wanted the filing cabinet and drawer module for it.

What I can get which will be nice and useful is an Effektiv filing cabinet. If I can built this to four modules high I'm sorted - it has lovely roll-top panels which I will use to keep my cameras in, and filing cabinets. The office is big enough now we've tidied up that I can get a bookcase in one corner, keep the treadmill, have a filing cabinet and still have a big, clear floor area.

I'm being careful with the space in the house; whilst this is now my primary computer, I'm trying not to use the office in the evening. At present it's a bit messy as my laptop is in the studio, meaning I don't really sit at my computer in the evenings, but the distinction between Office and Home needs to be maintained until I have my work really under control. To this end, I ate breakfast in the kitchen rather than sitting and starting work with it at my desk.

Thing is. I eat when I work. I sort of work all the time. This is how I am - should I try and change it?

More IKEA stuff, my studio has a space large enough to fit a fairly deep, wide but not too tall (maybe 120cm) unit which will tidy up a lot. In fact, the studio is looking MUCH clearer now. Soon I'll have it set up exactly how I want, split between the futon for guests, a corner for photography with the flash kit, a chair and background (and possibly a shooting table) and the music bit.

The cat has spent all day sitting up, but inching carefully along, to remain in the same sunpatch.

I dreamed of Magpies. I had a nest of them, and I was trying to keep them, but they all flew away. The real Magpies are becoming used to the food dropped on the small porch roof and hopefully will get used to the office window activity (people moving around) - they come so close when they think it's safe.

Watched some of F1 yesterday - the last 10 laps or so. I can see why Lewis Hamilton is so popular. Modern F1 cars look astoundingly fragile though, all those little fins and wings. I'm more taken by the new Nissan GT-R - I take it all back about not wanting fast cars in the future. There's fast, and there's technical superiority.
