My car now! Needs a wash, polish and interior leather conditioning, but looking quite clean and tidy. One thing that is interesting is that the rear boot is almost - externally - the same length as the MX5's boot (which extends below the roof internally, so is quite big). MR2=not space efficient.

Programme about Ken Livingston's many "issues" as Führer of the Communist Republic of London, directly followed by quality drama about... London. Called "City of Vice". Presentation of the latter is good, though it's a bit muttered and dark and hard to follow the characters at first due to them all looking the bloody same.

Question about wheel finishing: The MR2 has that sort of spun/lacquered wheel finish, which is (impressively for the age of the car) starting to show minor signs of oxidisation/peeling. Nothing like as horrible as the wheels on the Subaru were at half the age.

However, I can't find any firms which claim to refinish this specific look.

Lap-Tab are in Birmingham and offer some very nice finishes - Flash Chrome looks promising as a "quality" finish for the wheels - but if I can keep it totally original I will always be happier. (I'm also very, very interested in their "plastics finishing", as I think the MR2 dashboard could be significantly brightened up with a lighter finish on the centre section to match the speculative plans for a two-tone leather interior, but only if the finish were absolutely professional - none of this half-assed "spray it the colour of the outside" the boy racers do. I'm thinking soft-feel rubberised finish in ivory or pale grey as I plan for the seats to be black bolsters, pale grey/ivory centre and matching leather panels on the doors).

I cannot think of any other colour than polished or flash chrome that would suit the car. I think Anthracite/dark silvers would be too dark on it, and trying to match the green very silly.

I wish the Obama/Clinton battle were the final battle for the US presidency - as in, it were just between them. Either way I think America's popular politics would benefit hugely from the change. I don't think either of them, or indeed, anyONE, can change America drastically.
