Monday on a Friday

First call of the day; Siani's car won't start and is stranded in Hawick (on what appears to be a small motorway in a quiet part of the town. I have never seen such through traffic on such a minor road).

Can't find anything obvious. The timing belt hasn't snapped. It's either fuel or electrical in some way.

9:44am - call that Astra has broken
Attempts to fix. Astra stubbornly refuses to start. Go home, have toast, Google faults, take Siani to work, go to Kelso for work, come back with fuel filter and fuel, refit and fill, try again, no start. Light running out.
Go back to get Siani, get easy start on way.
Try car again. It's now after 5pm and dark.
Go back. Swear. Find jump pack. Charger missing, is flat. Find charger. Is wrong one - drains pack. Get jump leads. Go to Astra. Someone has parked in front. Forgot keys for it.
Go back to house. Sit in dark room for a moment. Grab keys. Take jump leads and Delica. Hook up leads.
Hook up leads again having cleaned terminals.
Try to start car. Turns over like mad but will not start.
Is now nearly 7pm.
Give up.
