OMGOMGOMGOMGOMG!

♥ ♥ for [livejournal.com profile] krysania1 - I went to collect post I'd missed over Whitby, and she has sent a box of PEEPS! Yeay! Including Cocoa Peeps, which I've never seen before.

Quiet toast for [livejournal.com profile] countb after midnight last night.

Hawick's new "Heritage Centre" - basically a reworking of a burned down nightclub in a historic building which has lain empty for... hmmm... well, I went to the club once, so it must be about 16 years at least (it was VERY 80s inside) and some backstreets - is looking absolutely stunning. Airy, not heavily modernised, and bringing out Silver St. businesses like the Damascus Drum (coffee/book shop, a bit granola) from a dingy alleyway into a throughstreet near a clean, spacious area of the town. The Drum was PACKED today when I walked past.

Hawick is definitely going up, and the Backdamgate/Sandbed/Allars Bank area is going to be worth a lot more. It'll be nice to see how this progresses.

And Nice Neighbour has returned and walked right into a job at one of the mills!
Bugger.

Dixons were apparently selling Amstrad E3 Videophones for £5.

Why do I always miss these things?!
Politicians are people.
People made a mess of elections and can't even put X or 1,2,3,4 in a box correctly.
You need to put X in a box to elect by voting.

Why do we want a fully elected House of Lords again? The General Public (TM) is clearly not sufficiently competent to choose leaders. The Competent Public (TM) is probably far too busy working, or something, to vote, since that is the only logical explanation for less than "almost 100%" turnout.
