Thursday: Due to logistics of distance, time and goats (goats DO contribute a lot to the operation of the universe), I took [livejournal.com profile] siani_hedgehog into work, then dashed to Kelso armed with my shiny new Sigma SD14 - did some work, then dashed back home with it to wrestle with the new WiFi options for Siani's new laptop (as documented). Left in a panic to get Siani from work on time, having been overworked and distracted, and realising I had no laundry. Stopped in Tesco for more PANTS!. Got to Glasgow still in a slightly foul mood sans hairtyes in windy weather, but resolved the issue (and hairbrushes). [livejournal.com profile] westyburger arrived and was retrieved by Siani, then other Glasgow types appeared in the shapes of [livejournal.com profile] banhe, T.E.P, Drew and [livejournal.com profile] aidan_skinner. We headed off to Aidan's with Drew in tow. Technically he set off in the lead, tried to have fun by driving around in circles (I'd followed, thinking he might - as a native - know a better route) - but I got bored and drove there by yet another, even faster route derived from the Taxi one and beat Aidan and Drew by several minutes.

Friday: Wakefulness took some time, we sought breakfast (failed; I had a dirty knife) all met up with [livejournal.com profile] mofette and Milf, [livejournal.com profile] ailska and Colin, and went 'shopping'. I'd already been shopping - don't send me to get tea from a shop beside a games shop - I bought new PacMan badges/band and Taito arcade game compilation for my PSP... but we had a look around Primark and stuff, then walked to the Thirteenth Note. The 'note is beside a retro clothes shop, so I looked for a leather biker jacket; found a nice replacement for my "normal" leather coat and a lot of £35+ charity-shop-esque biker jackets in awful condition. "We don't take cards". Damn. Off to the cash machine... past the leather shop. With biker jackets in the window. One discounted-price-that's-not-even-twice-the-retro-shop and I've got a brand new, correct size, quite nice jacket. Smart move, retro shop (direct me to a different machine in future...).

Whilst we all sat around the pub, [livejournal.com profile] snork_maiden arrived, and we all went back to Aidan's to change. Trains and stuff later, we're at King Tut's and the Bis gig. Bis rocked, afterwards we met Milk and Leila_Iforgotheotherbit, and with [livejournal.com profile] snork_maiden's friend Euan in tow, we set off for Aidan's again. [livejournal.com profile] mofette was dragged off, and our exciting new people also had to go, but we'd still acquired ONE new person to torment.

And tormented he was. Whilst we sang Rocky Horror and Rick Astley (Aidan unwisely provided rice, which was found underfoot for the next day or two), and attacked the snacks brought back from the 24hr shop, we chatted and drank until insane O'clock. At some point, Euan seemed to become the scratching post of choice, as [livejournal.com profile] snork_maiden managed to gouge strips in his chest, and then his back. Challenged to match this, I attempted the same, but left a mere feeble graze; meanwhile he slowly bled to death. A wide-awake Caroline wanted to go for a walk, so after a long trek out of Partick and discussions of Grave Importance (none of which related to Aidan's awesomeness), I acquired coffee and breakfast in McDonalds and we trekked back to the flat, where apparently everyone else had been indulging in some sort of three-in-a-bed shenanigans.

Saturday morning saw wakefulness somewhat corrupted by Euan wandering into Aidan's room and waking Caroline with a display of his wounds - enough to startle her out of bed, treated all present (inevitably, this excluded me; IIRC I was online trying to find DVD players for the laptop) to a naked flash, and wrestled with Euan to her own injury. This would result in Saturday evening being punctated by my "I AM TIRED" nap having to be disturbed to take her and Aidan to A&E later, but she wasn't very broken and trepanning sorted it out. Anyway, following the wrestling there was walking to Kelvingrove park (joined by [livejournal.com profile] banhe, childish behaviour tormenting emos, rating dogs (there was a three-legged one!), being warm and sleepy in the sun, and buying books. But no ice-cream, which made me a little sad.

Saturday Night was subdued by comparison, and Sunday was the trip home, admittedly via the scenic route as I got lost trying to be clever to get out of Edinburgh. There are some nice roads out of Balerno towards the A71, but I'd rather not have to do them at 30mph behind a tourist/lost person/dog with driving licence and owner's car.

All in all, not a bad weekend, and I got new jackets. Which I'm awfully happy about.

Next weekend I'm heading down to see [livejournal.com profile] jenova_red and collect a TV, and maybe detour to, um, London to get my tripod back (and perhaps visit [livejournal.com profile] deathboy and admire his handiwork. Hopefully he won't show his working; unlike exams, just the answer will be fine) . Getting back to the house saw Morticia be uber-friendly (and later, present a mouse), the chickens having laid over a dozen eggs over the weekend, 1GB RAM for the new laptop, and surprisingly little else. It's always odd adjusting to a long period around different people.

Yeay!

That'll look great on my 1997 standard CRT TV ;) (I may see what the projector can handle).
