Farewell Sera.

So, yeah. Mad partying at mine? Hell no. [livejournal.com profile] siani_hedgehog might be offski for the weekend, but I have merely played WoW, sold my lovely sportscar (which took up most of today, really, what with tidying, and looking for brakepads, and so forth). But I have money, money to pay for things. I resisted the temptation to buy myself a Mario game.

It's been interesting being back to my slovenly "living alone" pattern for a couple of days, as the house DOES feel different when I have it to myself in the evening - even though I have it to myself all day anyway. I remembered the feeling of being alone, and of wanting people near, quite strongly. Like "I wish I could go to the Mission".

But instead I sleep when I'm tired, and do what I want for a while, and it's quite relaxing.

Bloke who came up with the Sera's buyer played the V-drums properly. I was hopeful he might buy 'em ;)
Okay, that was odd.

Stopped by the Polis. Traffic car. Ostensibly because I was tailgating/too close for the conditions (WTF?! I was 3 car lengths at LEAST behind the car that was slowing down to 45 in NSL!), but actually, I suspect, because I'm a young bloke driving a sports car registered in England.

Why?

Well, they give me the lecture, and I'm not following the "be nice rules" because frankly, I haven't done a bloody thing wrong, and they're getting agitated - then I mention some local conditions with traffic. And they say "Wait, are you local?". "Yes. Lived here since I was 13". "What's your name?" "Richard Kilpatrick". Hat comes off, hasty retreat to car, and "Sorry sir!". Mouthy policewoman shuts up entirely.

What.The.Fuck?!

I mean, I wasn't rude to them. I just pointed out that actually, if they could tell for certain that "I was going to overtake said slow car and speed off up the road", they might want to consider a career in Clairvoyance - because I "wasn't going to. It's cold and wet, and my car is RWD and quite powerful. It was bad enough in the snow last week".

Still. Next time, I'm just going to say "Hi. I'm Richard Kilpatrick. Now, what can I help you with?"
What I really did this weekend:

I cleaned the kitchen, tidied, and tried NOT to put every item in the house in alphabetical order. I was quite lonely in a "I have the freedom to do whatever I want, for however long I want" that I had when I lived in Ednam, and likewise, all my friends are miles away. So I played WoW, played music, and so forth.

With the Sera gone, the yard looks bare. But I don't actually feel like I miss the car; and since [livejournal.com profile] siani_hedgehog reports that the Astra did the Glasgow trip without even the slightest hiccup, I think that car will behave itself for a while. Have to tax it, annoyingly - I'll take the paperwork down tomorrow and stick a year's tax on, thereby ensuring the car's "predictable bills" are taken care of for a whole year.

Tomorrow I will finish the ZD article and go to the gym.
