Nov. 2nd, 2006

For the first time in a week, I have slept for a full night.

I'm gradually gathering thoughts and so forth, and trying to work out what the key points of Whitby were. Because of certain incidents, it's a sort of patchy one, and I need to write down who is where when next Whitby so I can properly organise where I have been. I would like to thank [livejournal.com profile] graylion and [livejournal.com profile] dagwast for preparing excellent meals on Thursday and Friday. and I am trying to remember which parties where in what order, if you see what I mean.

No, I didn't get that rat arsed or anything, just sleep deprivation and lack of night/day clarity means that whilst I can, for example, remember people at parties, what was discussed, and most of what I did (varying claims of sleepiness at the Bonfire make me wonder if I actually spent a large amount of time being a fuzzy hibernating goth in the gothpile).

Getting more time with [livejournal.com profile] kest was really nice, she's awesome. And very patient with sleepy goths. [livejournal.com profile] banhe was also extremely nice, especially when I really needed someone. And I got a chance, finally, to properly meet [livejournal.com profile] deathboy, who is the first person to agree with me that the Marvin in the film of H2G2 is Bad And Wrong. \o/. MattP was also great company, and also, I have the glittery plastic cat and your blanket from the beach party. The cat is on the wall in the studio until you claim it ;)

Much of the weekend was spent in arcades and spending time with [livejournal.com profile] jenova_red and [livejournal.com profile] mr_pete, who are not frequent Whitbygoers so I really wanted to make the most of that time; we won plastic military hardware in the 2p machines (and I didn't make ANY slot remarks, honest), had meals (eventually, in one case), and got to be thoroughly amused by the power of spack. Though, next time I'm so sleepy that I forget the possibility of having to beat people up, PLEASE don't let me spack at passing boy racers. Also, getting to meet [livejournal.com profile] yuitsu and her boy was really nice; J also managed to be my hero for my one "ARGH!" moment; between Jen, Sammy and J, what could have been a circle of paranoia and stress for me was turned into a mere minor incident that I could laugh at. I don't know who the obnoxious fuckwit who wanders around with a bone-looking mug is, but if anyone knows him, please, put him on a short leash and keep him away from crowds; he has the personal space awareness of a long-lost scary Aunt demanding a cuddle, but without the niceness of "good intentions". And in the unlikely even that anyone that knows me was in the Pizza place, I'm sure I looked a twat, but at least it was over fast and no-one got hurt ;)

I have a lot of good feelings overall from this Whitby. I regret not having time to spend more time with [livejournal.com profile] karaw, [livejournal.com profile] samoth, [livejournal.com profile] ninjagirl and anyone else who I either spoke to in passing and had to go, or had tried to make plans with. And I felt that there was a certain something missing at the Bonfire, which made it seem... I don't know. There were some new (at least to me), rowdy people, who caused chaos and discomfort; and I think a lot of people seemed to be having an 'off' Whitby by the end of the week. So if I look at "what did I do", especially with the lack of photography, I feel disappointed. But if I look at "who was I with, how did I feel", I had a fantastic Whitby. And it's not about accomplishments, it's about people.

Of course, as I've probably said elsewhere, massive massive thanks and squishes are due to [livejournal.com profile] giolla and [livejournal.com profile] arachne, who were fantastic to share a cottage with - I hope it's mutual, but I felt exceptionally relaxed around them both, we seemed to manage not getting in the way quite well though I feel I didn't contribute enough to tidying up, and of course they also worked exceptionally hard on getting the firework display for Monday night.

If I did offend anyone...

...then my work here is done ;)

BARGAIN! BARGAIN!

Tasty Fish! Tasty Fish!

Attack of FISH!

My lyric book didn't get more lyrics, as I was very tired.

It did get a page of randomness which reads:

80s night with a picture of a Llama
The Face of Gary Glitter is In My Glass
IM IN EWER FIELD TOUCHIN UR SHEEP
Anal Sheepage (Oh Yeah)
Popcorn! Ding Ding Ding Ding
What Time Is It?
SHORT BOAT!
PORTHOLE LICKER!
MATT DAMON
GoatDog!
Pufferfish
Tanks. Vrrrrrrrr.

I think I wrote this on Monday morning (as in, Sunday night/Monday Morning). I would add "Cool Beans!" and "I have your cat!" now.
