Good weekend. Much lazing around, good company, nice food, and relaxing. I even made Linux work.

More to the point, I got into a quiet period when everyone went shopping, and played properly with my synths - and I can still do interesting things! That sound musical!

This weekend definitely rates very highly on the weekend scale, anyway.

Now I have a lot of work to do, and I'm also tidying the computers. I have three Apple IIs, one double disk drive, one single, and NO drive controller cars. I really need to be more careful when I get into "Argh! Too many computers! eBay!" mode. I also seem to have more Archimedes keyboards than machines to go with them, and found an extra Amiga monitor (which reminds me...).

"Sturgeon Eyes 'Scunnered' Voters"

I was expecting a story about a failed attempt to bribe voters with a fishy delicacy :(

Random Fact for the Day:

The Rankin-Bass release "The Last Unicorn" - the animation based on Peter S. Beagle's fantasy novel - was produced by the same team that went on to form Studio Ghibli.

Argh.

Not content with having found Yet Another Amiga in a cupboard, I then found monitors in another cupboard.

Just where are all these bloody computers coming from?!

Anyway: Mission - to organise, test and store all these machines. All computers with hard discs will have them checked, non-functional HDs will be stored in a box marked "Non functional HDs" and possibly thrown out (whilst that would make sense, the PCBs might be useful to repair others). All machines will be given an appropriate OS. Floppies will be sorted out and stored.

I found a Commodore 64 in the office that i forgot I bought last year; it's boxed.

All these machines need to be sorted out and stored away somewhere, since I know I won't and don't use them much. I want to have my BBC Master setup complete and behaving (with Hybrid Music system and possibly Sprow's ARM Co-processor option installed), the QL set up nicely, the Apple IIgs, and the usual assortment of Macs and stuff doing useful things.

I might have to get rid of some, simply because I keep forgetting what's there, but I'm hoping that a thorough catalogue, test and so forth will actually enable me to chuck some stuff out - say, if I find that the Apple IIe 'not quite enhanced" doesn't work, it already lacks a PSU and has a hole drilled in the case lid, and a missing key, so I could throw it away. Maybe remove the chips first...
