Some of my pictures were fine, one landscape is heading to Alamy.
Apparently I am far too picky about image quality.
My *ist DL has a misaligned lens/sensor, thus resulting in soft focus on one side of the image.
That was WAY too much time wasted today, thanks to phone calls about Minolta, always with the phone calls. However, it means that there are high quality studio shots of the SD10 wearing the 17-70 and 8mm lens, so I can be less paranoid about them.

And the SD10s 4 CR 3Vs need charging again. Poopy. They last a long time, but I want to charge the whole battery tube in one go. Or get 8 AA high end rechargeable cells and a charger which handles 8 at once. Then have two CR-3Vs in the standard holder and 8 AAs in the extended grip.

I need to sell more adverts, but I also need to finish articles, and plans for next week might be a little chaotic due to the need to shift 28 Pallets of surplus equipment.
Fucking internet.

No, really.

I wonder why I keep getting told "my articles are too long", when I've done what I feel is a comprehensive intro to say, a DSLR, covering all the salient points, and am about to embark on a review of the results and user experience. I'm looking at my page and a half of A4 12pt type, and thinking "Fuck, this is nothing. I write that much in an email, or telling people they're stupid on usenet".

And I look at the selection of five images for my review. Five images, showing that the camera takes pictures, what it looks like, and what the picture looks like close up.

So I think I'm missing something. I google, sure I have missed some point on this camera, and start reading DP Review.

And fuck me. THIS IS WHAT I USED TO DO. Page after page of USEFUL INFORMATION. Pictures of the LCD screen, the battery compartment, the control surfaces. Pictures that tell the reader how big, in real terms, the camera is, where the buttons are... and text. So much text. Okay, less waffle editorial content than I do (people apparently like my articles, so STFU in the peanut gallery), but... so MUCH information.

Perhaps too much in some ways...

But you know, I used to have enough space and advertising that it would be worth printing a single column shot of the battery compartment, two columns for the LCD and controls, a good sample set of images, and editorial.

Web space is free. People presumably buy the magazines for the editorial, rather than informational, content. However... I'm now sad to have been reminded that I used to do work of this quality, and now don't, and can't really remember how to do the level of testing apparent here. Hell, I haven't photographed a colour checker in years (or scanned one, apart from setting up SilverFast).

Later today, [livejournal.com profile] banhe and T.E.P. are showing up for the weekend. Yeay! They'll have to ignore the relative lack of tidy in the house, as I try and finish off my reviews so I can just focus on filling ad space next week.
Events
1947 - Howdy Doody, a children's television program, makes its debut (NBC).

Death:
2005 - William Doody, Canadian politician (b. 1931)

Clearly, The Doody is Strong on my birthday.

Anyone remember the Ensoniq Fizmo? Ever used one? I just remembered really wanting one, but they vanished without a trace and I think they must have sold oh, 3 or something, judging by the fact that I've never seen a used one for sale.
