Productive, albeit cold, weekend. New fence at the back of the garden so chickens can be released.

Downloaded Totoro, Spirited Away and 6 episodes of The I.T. Crowd to watch on the Xbox. Now it all works, Xbox Media Centre really does kick arse, especially now I managed to get it to log on to the Mac's Samba share automatically. Tried new themes but like Mayhem III best.

Watched 1984 Equilibrium. Now, for a modern film, Farenheit 451 Equilibrium is very slow paced, and I found it hard to pay attention to, but didn't want to miss anything. As it was, Demolition Man Equilibrium wasn't too bad visually, and I was especially impressed with the realism of the shooting in that the 'hero' had to reload. However, I felt it drew from a lot of similar sources, so I can't say I enjoyed Brave New World Equilibrium as much as I should have. Especially the constant references to sexcrime sensecrime. I had a nagging feeling that the originality may have been lacking.

Overall though, I would recommend Bladerunner Equilibrium if you're mind blowingly bored and haven't encountered any popular literature, cinema or cultural references for the last century or so. The Apple "Macintosh" Superbowl '1984' advert Equilibrium is nearly as good as Equilibrium Overdrawn at the Memory Bank.

I want my car to be fixed soon. I miss driving it.

Next week: Work, work, and more work. I might try and get on IRC/ICQ and catch up with people some, though - I realise that with trying to get on with work, do Focus on Imaging and so forth, I have neglected to stay in touch with my friends :/

And I haven't touched my guitars for a fortnight at least. I must do something about it.

Happy Chicken Surprise:

Assemble one fence.
Obtain three Chickens.
Get sunny day.
Release Chickens into garden, contained by walls, gate and fences, whilst making it easy for them to get to their henhouse.

Run up to chicken and say "Boo!" (otherwise, it wouldn't be surprise).

The lawn is now being picked clear of bugs, though they were most interested in the heap of dirt behind their house, raking through it (and comically sliding down it) for grubs and the like.

Took files over to Kelso and upgraded computers. Drove RX8, which thawed out nicely, but needs that damn damper fixed. The RX8 is getting a FREE THING! though - the maker of the stainless side strakes is sending me his new lowered plate holder which attaches to the lower part of the airdam and provides a proper plate mounting place away from the grille, FOC, to photograph and test. He even offered to make me a new plate, but since I know I can remove mine without damage, I told him to make a promotional one instead (that way, my licence plate isn't in the photographs). I'm not wholly sure I would want one normally - I can be funny about messing with my car's appearance too much - but I'm happy to photograph it for him, as fitting is reversible and getting to keep it is a bonus :D
