I have quite good luck finding good Palm software for the Clie. A lot of it, whilst 'paid for' shareware, gives you a decent trial period, or not too many limitations, and you can find it easily.

Pocket PC stuff always seems to come back to Handango. AIM for Pocker PC is charged at $19.95. WTF? AIM is free for almost everything as a client. And I'm not kidding, it's free for Pocket PC too from most sources. Now, I understand Handango has to pay the bills, but say, Palmsource or Palmgear or whatever it was I used for the Clie - you can find applications which are priced at, say, $2. So you fill a cart with all these handy things, and you spend a few bucks, and developers get paid.

But $19.95 for a free application?

Of course, it's an EXE file. So I need PocketMac or to install it from the PC, or to use FileJuicer and hope the CAB files are intact enough to install. I think from looking for other stuff, I'm going to shovel some coal into the PC and fire it up for this task. Need a bloody USB lead so I don't have to keep moving the dock...
