What a past x days:
Wednesday: Collect van, drive to Cambridge via A1 7pm - 1am. Stop in Tuxford for a wander/peer/snack.
Sleep. 3am - 7amish.
9am load sofa, computer desk, coffee table. Drive around corner. Load TV and other stuff. Unload 'a bit further into Cambridge'.
10:30 load van with approximately 40 boxes and other items, such as suitcases, plants, heavy speakers, a bloody great plasma TV (those are heavier than I imagined), a fucking ROCK the size of my head...
11:30 drive to Nuneaton (arrive around 1pmish). Meet Paul and get given a computer. Look at Vauxhall Vivas (nice 14,000 mile one damaged by mishap).
2pmish drive to Hawick: Arrive 7:30pmish. Eat. Drive to Edinburgh with Siani. Unload van, onto TOP FLOOR FLAT up four flights of stairs. Frequently get near to tears as another 20Kg box sends my legs to jelly by the third flight. Find it easier with 15kg backpack balancing 20kg boxes. 36Kg TV almost defeats us due to bulk (I can carry, well, not actually drop whilst staggering, a regular 36Kg 32" TV - just - but not up four flights of stairs). Find the exercise cures my driving shoulders.
Get home and to sleep around 2amish. Up at 7:45 to return van to rental place.
Rescued from stuff my sister was going to throw out - Brabantia bins (yes, the £80 stainless ones), a stool I might like for playing cello, I think a VCR but I forgot, an IKEA breadbin.
I now have Tiger installed on my PowerBook. Can't really see much difference TBH, Dashboard is 'okay', iSync working with my 7610 is a major bonus though.
Tomorrow I fetch
lunacia from the airport and she's visiting for a week!
Oh, and I finally paid for my TD3K stuff. If anyone wants a GR300 guitar synth mine has met reserve but looks like it's going to actually sell for £275, obscenely cheap IMO :(
It never ceases to amaze me how close to people I am when I go to Cambridge. I see signs for people I know everywhere - Milton Keynes, Hemel, St. Albans, Coventry, Leeds, Harrogate. Wish we had time to just drive around and visit everyone.
