My dad's continual envy of my G5 dual is going to be offset slightly, having responded at 11:57pm to an advert posts at 11:55pm saying "WAITWAITWAIT! I have to check with someone but I want this" and been the first to respond by a mere 2 minutes, I have secured for him a 1.8GHz G5 with 20" Aluminium LCD panel, 1Gb RAM, Airport, 128Mb graphics upgrade (making it an ATI?). £1927 quids worth of Mac for £1200. Nice.
Means I'll be selling his (my old) G4/733 Quicksilver, which has 1.5Gb RAM, as yet undecided HD, CD-RW drive (can't rememeber if it's a combo, I think it isn't), Pro speakers, keyboard, mouse and 15" LCD. Be nice if it gets around £500 but I doubt it'll get that with the existence of the Mac Mini and lower-cost G5 models.
I will be so very jealous of that display, though. Mine is quite lovely, but the aluminium one matches.
