Welcome back to an old friend
Feb. 9th, 2005 07:24 pmMmm. Closed magazines, so it's payday *dance*. Not that I get to enjoy any of it - any disposable cash is earmarked for house things or repairing the cars. Sera is booked in for Friday lunchtime to get the engine mount fixed.
Whilst in Kelso, I asked my dad if he had any effects-type things I could use with my Kramer, and was rewarded with a Phaser pedal (Rocktek or something) and a Boss DD-3 to play with. I was also given back my trusty Roland JV-50 (still with an Edward Scissorhands sticker on the disk drive!). I gave this to him for some other stuff years ago, and it's sat unused in his drawing room except when I've been over and have fired it up. JV fast attack strings, a nice responsive standard keyboard, and some very nice sounds and combination tricks whilst being very simple. I'm very pleased to have this back in my studio.
Enjoyed some neat 80s music, plus The Bravery, The Killers, Queens of the Stone Age and that new Gwen Steffani track that Siani hates by default because it's Gwen Steffani. I just like some of the sounds in it. Must get the Bravery's album though - for a mainstream sort of band I really like their current song (Honest Mistake) and sound/combination. Not original, not unique, but it's quite nice.
Apple IIgs is behaving following a thorough clean up of the new ramcard.
eBay things are not doing as well as I'd hoped, particularly the //c system with LCD panel :( - it's still sitting at £12.50 - activity on the ][ plus is more promising.
Supra gets new coolant and oil this week if things go to plan.
