No, really. It's really tough looking after all these old computers. Take today. Today, Peter H Coffin asked a question about my Apple II network. Needless to say, I said "I'm going to go check something, back in a moment" to Siani and ran upstairs. An hour later I came downstairs for more beer, stinking of contact cleaner and muttering something about Transwolfs or Transwombats or something, and disappeared back upstairs. About an hour after that, I came back downstairs, said "It's working but I had to remove the genlock", then went upstairs to switch it all off.

And I never even got around to checking what I wanted. The IIgs is not making a good case for itself sticking around instead of landing on eBay with an eye to a nice Mac Mini replacement. Especially now the best emulator for the IIgs is being developed for OS X proper and I simply don't have the time to put together a music article for SOS featuring Apple IIs.

Either way the Video Overlay Card is probably eBay-bound.

The Amiga situation isn't looking healthy, either. They appear to be breeding. The lovely mint A1200 is now equipped with the 3Gb HD and 40MHz '030 from the grotty one, with the broken SIMM socket verified as being broken because someone forced the A1230 Mk II into the slot when it's not supposed to have 2 SIMMs installed when in trapdoor mode. Replaced the two 16Mb ones with a 32Mb, logically enough - it can take up to 128Mb.

As a result, the grotty A1200 acquired a 20Mb HD I had left over from an A600. So I have two A1200s to dispose of, one of which is spoken for and one of which will be dirt cheap on account of being grubby, having a tiny HD, and probably needing a mouse or something.

At least the Supra's tyres haven't gone flat since it got new ones. This is probably a good sign.
