Bah, I can't make it work.
Aug. 2nd, 2004 10:53 pmOkay. My current geek distraction is getting the Apple IIgs to connect to the internet via MacIP (TCP/IP contained within AppleTalk/LocalTalk packets). I've downloaded Marinetti 3.0b1, IPNetRouter, and I'm running IPNR on the Mac LC III.
The LC III runs AppleShare 3.0 and LocalTalk bridge. When working right, the IIgs can see the other AppleTalk computers when booting - so I know Ethernet and LocalTalk bridge work. The IIgs presently boots off AppleShare because I have no HD for the Apple II.
The LC III can see Internet via the same ADSL router that deals with everything.
Now, as I understand it, what IPNR should do is create a subnet, on which the AppleTalk/MacIP computers live. These computers then use the LC III as their router, including the direct link to the ADSL machine as a gateway.
I've followed all the instructions. It simply doesn't work. I don't understand why it doesn't work and it's really incredibly frustrating.
